Comprehension of the allotted reading material and/or understanding the news as heard from a valid source are focused upon. Interpreting pictorial display/table/charts/maps and writing a short paragraph about them is part of the course work.

Using a dictionary to find multiple meanings of a word in a variety of contexts is emphasised. Understanding grammatical forms in context and through reading are also included.

Creating number patterns through which HCF and LCM are derived comes under one of the core academic activities. Exploring ratios, geometrical shapes – triangle, quadrilateral, circle etc. – is included.

Subjects like Science and Social Studies are introduced from Class VI onwards. In addition, the student is given an opportunity to choose their second language out of three options: Tamil / Hindi / French.

A third language is compulsory up to Class 8 and the student will, therefore, be required to choose one of the three aforementioned languages; depending on what they have already selected as their second language.
